This last week has been quite full of fun and theres more to come tonight and the rest of the week! I decided to start out my week by working a 12.5 hour shift on Monday. I even ditched FHE for it. That probably doesn't sound all that bad to you, but I am the FHE coordinator and pretty much the sole person in charge of the activities. So ditching FHE is liking taking a little vacation. I don't know if you've noticed, but Monday's come around every single week!
Anywho, I was able to relax on Tuesday and only work a happy little four hour shift. Wednesday I went to see Cars 2 with my friend. We were supposed to go see it at the new Fork and Screen theater where they serve you food right to your seat, but it was sold out. So we decided to order our food from the bar and then took it to a regular theater. The food was fantastic and the movie was really cute. I can see how my sister thought it may have been slightly violent for her kids, but I'm 24 and don't have kids, so I was fine with it.
Thursday passed by with a day of running errands and working at night and it all led to the start of an excellent weekend. Friday I had signed up to feed the sisters dinner, so I prepared a meatloaf and mashed potatoes. My friend Chad also came for dinner (well more like invited himself over) so we all had a nice dinner together. After the sisters left, Chad, my roommate Katie and I took off to Downtown Disney to see my second movie of the week, Monte Carlo. I am an obsessed Selena Gomez fan, so to say I was excited is a huge understatement. The movie was mostly a knock off of Lizzie McGuire and was as predictable as a chick flick can get, but I still throughly enjoyed it. We were supposed to meet up with a bunch of friends for the movie, but they did not get tickets in time, so we met up with a couple after and all went to steak and shake. Steak and Shake never disapoints me for a fun time with friends and good food. It probably holds the most memorable outings with friends to a fast food location then any of the other ones combined. The only downside of this outing was one of the guys borrowed my camera and left it at the table. When I realized we left with out it at 3am, I jumped back in my car to rescue it. Fortunatly the kind waitress put it in a safe place and was glad I came back for it. She deserves a gold star for excellent service!
Saturday was filled with sleep considering I did stay up until 4am the night before. I woke up in just enough time to get ready and go to the baptisms at noon. I worked that night and then went straight to bed to get up for church Sunday. As always, church was excellent. I have a great ward and enjoy being there. I usually end up staying hours after church socializing with friends and this last sunday was no exception. There is a new ward in our building (there was only us before) so as a couple of my friends and I sat out in the foyer and chatted, we also played with a cute little boy named Adam. We are not used to having kids around the church! After the few hours of hanging out at the church we returned to my apartment so I could make cookies for break the fast and we watch Lilo and Stitch. The sisters had asked Chad to pick up a couple investigators and so we ventured together to complete this task. Unfortunatly after driving the their apartment and then finding out they were at the Magic Kingdom, we were still unable to locate them in time and they decided to try again for next week. After socializing with many friends at break the fast and eating good and interesting food my friends and I went over to the Polynesian Resort to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. I am fireworks obsessed, so two nights in a row of specialized fireworks is my happy place.
All that leaves me at is that I worked a good shift today and we had a BBQ at work with free hamburgers and hotdogs and many other goodies. And now I'm headed off to Epcot to watch fireworks agian! I hope you've enjoyed a week in the life of Elizabeth. See you soon!
