Crazy Crazy Week

This has been one of the craziest weeks I have had in a long time. We moved this week and so it all began on Monday when we were supposed to get the keys to the new place at 11:30. However I was texted early in the morning by the landlord letting me know that he could not meet until 7:00pm. I was pretty upset because I was going to spend Monday moving. Little did I know that the apartment was going to need a lot of work and was no where near move in ready. It needed a good vacumming job, but we had no electricity. So I decided to go to FHE and worry about it on Tuesday.

Tuesday I worked during the day, but afterward I had the brillant idea to borrow and extension cord and borrow electricity from the outside. It worked perfectly and I was able to get the apartment somewhat looking better. I also cleaned the bathrooms and worked more on packing my old apartment. I had to pick my roommate Katie up from work that night and we decided to work on our apartment a little. When we got going, we discovered just how dirty the kitchen was, especially the fridge. We worked until 2:00am...it needed to be ready by Wednesday because we had guys coming over to help us move.

Wednesday was the best day. Shelly and I ran around and did errands. I got call from the Sprint store letting me know my new phone was in, which made my day even though I did not have a lot of time to spend with it. We had people show up around 6pm and we ended up with 5 guys helping us. We are able to get the whole apartment moved in less then three hours and afterwards we made them hamburgers, with chips, watermelon, salad and cookies. After they all left Katie and I decided to finish up a few things liking cleaning out the fridge and gathering odds and ends, which ended up taking us until 1:30am. Katie then went to bedm but I was finishing up laundry and I stayed up until 3.

Luckily Thursday I did not work until 6pm so I was able to sleep in, but I needed to get all of my hanging clothes moved and also my decorations. As I completed this in the noon sun, I was exhausted, but got it all done. Work was long and tiring but I made it through.

Friday was the easiest day of my week. I was able to sleep in and then I unpacked and waited for Katie to get home. I was supposed to feed the sisters, but they had to cancel, so it saved me a trip to the store. That night we went to Transformers 3 with a couple of friends. Afterwards we came back home and Katie went to move her scooter and it wouldn't start...long story short our friend Eric agreed to come jump it in the morning and help her get to work.

So now I'm to this morning...Eric jumped Katies scooter and sent her on her way to work. Halfway there it broke down and she had to call Eric to get her the rest of the way to work. 9:15 rolls around and Shelly burst into my room telling me our cars were towed. I suggest to Shelly she call Eric, who was at the church doing building clean up and he came and took her to work. He came back and took me to get my car. Basically our complex is stupid. We have to have a parking pass to park here and the could not get us our permanent ones, so they gave us temporary passes. Well the person in the office was a fill in and so he did it wrong and we ended up getting towed because of his lack of the proper way to fill out a pass. I had to pay $125 to get my car out and they only release cars to the registered owner so we could not do anything about Shelly's car. After I got my car I went to the church because there was a baptism and I had to give a talk. Then I asked my friend Chad to help me find cardboard for FHE on Monday (we are building cardboard forts) and we drove for about two hours. I had a short break before I had to pick up Shelly and Katie from work and then we went to get Shellys car. Next was wal-mart, then cleaning up the apartment, finishing up getting stuff out of the old apartment, cooking dinner for tomorrow (read about in next blog post) oh and spending 20 minutes talking to the security gaurd about who knows what while he gave us proper parking passes.

Now that you have experienced a week in the life of Elizabeth and the craziness of moving, I hope you have an enjoyable day!
