Disney's Art of Animation Resort
This year I have had the opportunity to work in five different locations. It sounds really crazy, but every transistion had its purpose. I started the year at Star Tours, it was really hard to leave but I had the opportunity to move to front desk at Port Orleans. Since I knew moving to front desk would help advance my career, I moved on. However the position was only part time, so when I was offered a full time position back in attractions, I jumped on the chance. I worked at the backlot tour for two months before I was given the exciting opportunity to be part of Disney's Art of Animation Opening team. I am now at the Disney Reservation Center, but thats a story for another day.
My offical transfer was on May 6th and that's when I was able to see the resort for the first time. I'm not going to post pictures because you can just find them on the internet. Also, I never took a single picture of the resort. I guess I just relied on others to do that for. And they are all over my Facebook, so no need. May was the best month I've had this year so far. The first week we were sent to other value resorts to get a feeling of the busyness. Then came the fun part. Resort familization week. One day was a full Walt Disney World scavenger hunt where we went to all four parks and a couple resorts. We did tons of theming and random activities and even watched a few movies. Such a fun, chill week.
The next week was filled with odds and end. The best part was our cast rally. We had food and a pool party with dancing and characters. We also had our test stays. So everyone who worked there was able to stay in a room for a night, and got two free meals from Landscapes of Flavor, our quick service location. I invited my roommates to come and we had fun. I did have a bad cold though, so it was a iittle harder to enjoy.
The rest of the details about the job are pretty unimportant, it was a good summer there. I made a lot of good friends and made some good memories. And now, stayed tuned for Art of Animation boy post. It's a good story.
