Last weekend I went to New York to visit Jon, Anna, Jacob and Becca. I was really excited to meet Becca, babies grow up so fast. Thankfully she is still small and only 10 pounds and sleeps a lot so she's still at the phase where I love babies! Jacob is two and despite coming down with a cold that was making him slightly grumpy, he is adorable. He often over the weekend asked his parents where I was and when they pointed me out or when I said I'm here he would get a huge smile on his face. He also told me he loved me several times, which was adorable.
Anyway, the weekend started with me going to Universal on Friday morning with some Star Tours friends. This may have been a bad idea because I stayed a little too long and almost missed my time to get my bag checked. No worries, I made it with three minutes to spare. Once I got to New York I got a taxi to Jon and Anna's and the fun began. When they asked what I wanted to do, I said I wanted to get my two New York only badges, one of which included going to Brooklyn. I thought Brooklyn was a ghetto place, so they decided it was a good idea to show me Brooklyn. 25 check ins later and a trip to apparently the worlds worst Target, I got my badge! So did Jon and Anna!
Sunday I stayed home with Jacob due to his oold and then we just hung out all day. Monday Anna took me to Shake Shack. I needed to try it because I hear about it all the time. Ok not all the time, but enough to know that I needed to try it. We then walked through Central Park to get to Time's Square. We stopped by the Plaza and found out that there is a store called Eloise, completely adorable! We also stopped by FAO Schwarz all on our way to the Disney Store! I was actually less than impressed, the store was small and didn't have anything that special. However, I was excited that even though we were in the midst of New York as soon as we walked into the Disney Store the cast members were so Disney like. They were friendly and helpful and not pushy. I love it.
The last day I was there we made it to the New York City Library and saw the original Winnie the Pooh characters. I was annoyed because they are supposed to have a special room in the childrens section, but they were moved to some special exhibt which was dark and not made for kids.
So I'm getting bored writing this and youre probably getting bored reading this, so I'm just gonna get to the point. I checked in a lot of Foursquare this weekend. It was more fun because Jon and Anna also check in, so I feel less like a loser for being excited over points and the four badges I got over the weekend. I had a lot of fun in NYC. Special shout out to Jon and Anna for letting me stay and feeding me. I hope one day I can provide the same level of hospitality that you guys provided for me!
